She's holding a rolling pin — and there's a very good reason for that. Meet Renee Fox, the most glamorous decanter in the Jim Beam Specialties Club collection. Dressed in a low-cut blue and white gown, thigh-high black boots, long black gloves, and a red feathered cap, she is equal parts show-stopper and conversation piece. The rolling pin behind her back is a clue: she is one half of a matched set, paired with Mr. Reginald Fox — who apparently needed keeping in line after a bit too much fun at the 1974 convention.
Renee stands 12.75 inches tall and is every bit as striking on her own as she is with her counterpart. The original foil label on the bottom reads "Exclusive Regal China, Handcrafted, Beam 10 Months Old, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 86 Proof, Bottled by James B. Beam Distilling Co., Clermont, Kentucky." The Association's logo is stamped on the opposite side, and a partial tax strip remains.
A wonderful gift for the dad — or anyone — with a sense of humor and an appreciation for the golden age of American collectible decanters.
Note: the cork is missing and may need replacing for a snug fit.
Jim Beam's figural decanter series was produced primarily by Regal China of Chicago between the 1950s and 1980s. Convention-exclusive pieces like Renee Fox were made in limited quantities for members of the International Association of Jim Beam Bottle and Specialties Clubs and are among the most sought-after in the entire series.
