The advantage of ASME cylinders vs. DOT is that they do not require recertification after 12 years from the Date of Manufacture. The cylinder comes with a lid installed, arrives EMPTY, and vacuum purged ready for filling with propane, and is epoxy coated on the base of the tank for superior rust protection. The tank is preinstalled with a propane float gauge that can easily accommodate a "Remote Ready Dial" (sold separately) and is fitted with high-quality valves - 1.25-inch ACME Fill valve, Service Valve, and Relief valve.
